Introduction

Huawei FusionSolar is the solar energy division of Huawei Technologies, a company whose AI and telecommunications background informs its FusionSolar platform. In the inverter segment, Huawei has held the position of global #1 in string inverter shipments for many consecutive years since 2015. The SUN2000 hybrid lineup combines 98.4% efficiency with a tightly integrated ecosystem built around the LUNA2000 battery.

History & Scale

Huawei Technologies was founded in 1987 in Shenzhen, initially operating in the telecommunications sector. Its Smart PV division (FusionSolar) grew rapidly from the early 2010s, applying AI expertise and power electronics experience carried over from telecom. The Digital Power unit (which encompasses FusionSolar) now operates as an independent business with revenues in the tens of billions of USD.

Core Technology

Huawei’s key differentiator is the integration of AI optimization at the battery-module level within FusionSolar, which automatically balances the state of charge (SoC) of each LUNA2000 module, detects anomalies early, and delivers OTA firmware updates. The SUN2000 L1’s wide MPPT range of 90–560 V accommodates diverse string configurations. The LUNA2000 battery uses a stacked LFP chemistry and is exclusively compatible with Huawei inverters, making this the most tightly synchronized ecosystem in its segment.

• SUN2000 L1 (single-phase, 2–6 kW): residential use, 2 MPPTs, high-voltage LUNA2000 350–560 V.
• SUN2000 M1/MB (three-phase, 8–20 kW+): large villas and commercial applications, also paired with LUNA2000.

Positioning in Vietnam

Huawei FusionSolar is well-suited for customers who prioritize a major brand, the highest efficiency in its class, and are comfortable committing to the LUNA2000 battery from the same manufacturer. Costs are typically higher than Deye or GoodWe, but the AI monitoring system and global warranty policy are clear advantages.
