Introduction
Deye is currently the most popular hybrid inverter brand in the Vietnamese market, thanks to a combination of three factors: competitive pricing, flexible 48V low-voltage battery compatibility, and a peak output of 1.5× rated capacity for 10 seconds, a practical advantage when starting pumps, air conditioners, or air compressors. The brand belongs to Ningbo Deye Technology Group, listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange since 2021.
History & Scale
The Deye Group was founded in 2000, initially producing air conditioning and dehumidification equipment. Its solar inverter arm, Ningbo Deye Inverter Technology Co., Ltd., was established in 2007. The group was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2021 (ticker: 605117.SH).
Core Technology
The cornerstone of Deye’s technology is the 48V low-voltage battery architecture: with charge/discharge currents of up to 120 A on the single-phase model, it is compatible with virtually any 48V LFP battery brand on the market (Pylontech, BYD LVL, domestic brands, etc.) without being locked into a proprietary ecosystem. This is a major advantage for open-system builds, though it requires battery cabling with sufficient cross-sectional area and appropriately rated DC circuit breakers to handle the high current.
Product Lineup
- SUN-SG04LP1 (single-phase, 3–6 kW): the flagship residential model, 120 A charge/discharge current, 2 MPPTs, MPPT voltage range 100–500 V.
- SUN-SG04LP3 (three-phase, 5–12 kW): for larger households and small commercial loads, MPPT voltage range 150–550 V.
Recommended battery pairing: any 48V LFP module with compatible CAN/RS485 communication. Deye does not sell its own batteries but supports a broad compatibility list from multiple manufacturers.
Positioning in Vietnam
Deye is the default choice for the majority of residential solar projects requiring an open system at a reasonable budget. Its flexible 48V battery support makes it easy for customers to expand storage capacity later. One important consideration: the high-current 48V architecture demands more careful installation practices compared to high-voltage battery systems.
Sales note
A 120 A charge/discharge current at 48V is a substantial figure: battery cables must be 35 mm² or larger, and the DC circuit breaker must be rated at a minimum of 125 A. When customers compare Deye against high-voltage systems such as Sungrow or Huawei, remind them that high-voltage systems allow much smaller cabling but require the battery brand to be locked in from the start.
