Introduction

WECO is an Italian energy storage battery brand headquartered in the Florence, Tuscany region, one of the few LiFePO4 battery brands of European origin with an in-house engineering team combined with manufacturing in Shenzhen. The brand positions itself in the European premium segment, distributing to more than 40 countries. Its flagship is the 5K3 XP line, its most distinctive feature being a single battery module that supports both low-voltage and high-voltage modes, offering a flexible solution to inverter compatibility challenges.

History & Scale

WECO began with more than 10 years of R&D investment in lithium battery technology and renewable energy, establishing its legal office in Florence and its manufacturing facility in Shenzhen. This model allows the company to combine Italian engineering specifications with manufacturing in Shenzhen. Products are certified to EU standards and are currently available in the Vietnamese market through solar energy importers and distributors.

Core Technology

The most significant differentiator of the 5K3 XP is its dual-mode architecture: the same 5.37 kWh module can operate in LV mode (51.2 V, up to 15 modules in parallel, approximately 80.55 kWh) or HV mode (up to 16 modules in series, system voltage 150–1000 V, approximately 86 kWh). This allows system designers to use either a low-voltage or high-voltage inverter with the same battery line, reducing SKU inventory and increasing project flexibility. LiFePO4 cells, IP65, over 6,000 cycles at 90% DoD, full CAN/RS485/RS232 communication interfaces.

Product Lineup

WECO also offers commercial and industrial lines with higher capacity, but in the Vietnamese market the 5K3 XP is the most commonly imported SKU for residential and small commercial systems.

Positioning in Vietnam

WECO is well suited to projects that require a premium EU open-platform battery: customers who want a European label, require outdoor IP65 protection, or need the flexibility to switch between low-voltage and high-voltage systems without changing battery lines. Import pricing is higher than Pylontech or Dyness, but the Italian brand carries strong appeal with certain corporate and high-end customer segments.
