Introduction
AIKO is the pioneer of ABC (All Back Contact) technology: all electrodes are placed on the rear of the cell, leaving the front face completely free of busbars, delivering the highest efficiency and superior aesthetics. With efficiency reaching 24.2%, AIKO leads the Vietnamese market in the highest-efficiency segment.
History & Scale
Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Shanghai, AIKO focuses exclusively on N-type back-contact cells and modules. The company achieved Bloomberg Tier 1 status from Q3 2024 and holds IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 certifications issued by TÜV Rheinland. Although newer than Jinko or JA, AIKO achieved Bloomberg Tier 1 status in Q3 2024.
Core Technology
ABC technology moves all electrodes to the rear of the cell, eliminating shading from front-side busbars and freeing the entire light-capturing surface. The result is a module efficiency approximately 1–1.5 percentage points higher than TOPCon, along with a better temperature coefficient for Pmax (−0.26%/°C versus −0.29%/°C for TOPCon). This seemingly small difference accumulates over many hours of intense sunlight, creating a real, measurable difference in annual energy yield.
Product Lineup
AIKO offers two main series: Neostar (smaller format for townhouses and villas) and Comet (72-cell format for commercial applications). The flagship Comet model AIKO-A-MAH72Mw 620W suits commercial installations; the AIKO-A-GRH66Dw 655W (analyzed in depth in KB 02-03) suits premium residential projects where efficiency and aesthetics are top priorities. Degradation of ~0.35%/year is lower than TOPCon, and the 15-year product warranty is longer than the mainstream tier.
Positioning in Vietnam
AIKO is the top choice when customers prioritize the highest efficiency on a roof with limited area and when aesthetics matter (townhouses and villas with a visible roofline). The price premium over mainstream TOPCon panels is offset by higher annual yield and a longer warranty.
Sales reminder
Three selling points for AIKO: (1) highest market efficiency ~24.2%, (2) busbar-free front face, cleaner appearance on visible rooftops, (3) lowest degradation ~0.35%/year plus a 15-year product warranty. When customers ask why it costs more than JA or Jinko, use these three points. The Comet 620W is a moderately sized panel that is easier to pair with inverters than the large 132-cell high-power formats.
